The Coca-Cola Company uses a local business model for its global business in more than 200 countries and territories where it operates. This model ensures that local citizens are employed and local resources are used to produce the Company's beverages. Along with our bottlers, the Coca-Cola system is one of the largest private sector employers in Africa.
With people as our greatest asset, our belief in Sustainable Communities extends to our people. With initiatives focused on personal and professional growth, career planning, training and mentoring, Coca-Cola Africa believes that our focus on Sustainable People helps us to recruit, retain, develop and promote the best people to win in the marketplace and promote sustainable business.

The Coca-Cola Company aims to provide a maximum return to its shareowners. In Africa, we contribute to that goal through effective execution against a winning strategy. Our continued solid performance led to strong results over 2007 and aggressive goals for 2008.

As a total beverage company, we continuously evolve to meet the changing needs of our consumers–those needs and desires for hydration, nutrition, energy, relaxation and refreshment.
In Africa, consumers have access to a wide variety of Coca-Cola beverage options including top sparkling beverages such as Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Sprite and Fanta, and still beverages such as water, fruit juices, energy, teas and sports drinks.

The Coca-Cola System is comprised of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and more than 300 bottling partners worldwide. TCCC primarily manufactures and sells concentrates, beverage bases and syrups to bottling operations, which then produce a wide array of Coca-Cola beverages. TCCC owns the brands and is responsible for consumer marketing initiatives. Our bottling partners, in addition to manufacturing the final branded beverages, also handle merchandising and distribution and work closely with customers (restaurants, markets, street vendors, movie theatres and many others) to bring our beverages to consumers around the world at a rate of 1.5 billion servings each day.
In Africa, we have over 30 bottling partners covering the 56 countries and territories. This allows our system to employ 60,000 people across the continent, making our system one of the largest employers in Africa.

Sustainable Communities is at the core of The Coca-Cola Company business. We know that the sustainability and growth of our business depend on the sustainability and wellbeing of the communities in which we operate. Our corporate social responsibility efforts are facilitated and driven by The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation to make a difference and build healthy communities.
